The best D3 teams may have 4 or 5 guys that could go D1 but then the rest of that team would get out run or pushed around. If you want to play at the higher level schools (Tufts, Stevenson, Salisbury, etc) then yes you do need to be very good. Many of the players going top D3 also had D1 looks. Now, lower D3 is very different as the talent simply is not as good.

A Jersey kid, all right! One thing to keep in mind at D3 is that some schools overrecruit because there are no athletic grants-in-aid to hold over a player's head. Players can quit at any time & still finish their education at the school. You might show up on the first day of fall ball & see 20 freshmen that have been recruited in some form.I'm transfering from my Junior College i'm attending for various reasons and i was wondering if any of you guys know any schools that are D3/D2 with quality academics but are also affordable. I was looking into a few private universitys but the cost even with academic scholarships, aide and grants were just to much to pay for.
